First salmon parr | ![]() |
Even at town wasn't so windy on the river I got some cold storm.. At 10AM water has 44F.Good new was that I saw some first mayfly on the river and sun come behind clouds. Between strong waves of wind fish start to take insects from water. That get my attention and I have to try what is it. But after some first cast with smallest fly nr 10 from my box nothing happened. So I pack up and go back to Bank Fly Fishery for some dry fly about nr 14 - similar to Dun fly (black n white).
Again back to river and just after first cast some fish try to take new fly. What's a fun when you see as fish taking our bit :) But after many takes I can't hook any. I start to fish with fly going few in under surface and bigger bend of line in current. One cast down one cast up and bump. I got some nice beauty on the end. Very lively and difficult to handle. And really nice salmon parr :) Quick photo and back to water.
Before Evening I try some more cast with bigger fly, but nothing happened. And just about 7PM I saw some big fish (rout?) splashing down of Halton Lower Beat.
A think about spinn on Skerton Beat, but some amateurs of water sports did much better than me... When darkness come and water stay quiet form another side of river some fish show under trees, to make me think that I need to come back here yet :)
PS. Water at 7PM has about 43F.
